What is a tithe?

A tithe—which means a “tenth”—is bringing the first 10 percent of a person’s income back to the church. Tithing is a principle taught through the entire Bible. When we tithe, we express worship by putting God first in our lives.

Why do we tithe?

The bible teaches that money is one of the main contenders for our devotion to God (Matthew 6:24). When we give, we're demonstrating that He is more important to us than material things.

Tithing is about training our heart to trust God at His Word. When we bring our first and best back to God, He promises to bless the rest. In Malachi 3:10, the Lord says “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this...and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

What is the 90 Day Tithe Challenge? Isn’t this just a way for the church to raise money?

We are doing the 90 Day Tithe Challenge in response to the Word of God in Malachi 3:8 - 12. We believe that tithing, at its core, is really a trust issue. We believe that there is so much more to be gained by walking in obedience to the Word of God. For some we know it is going to take a leap of faith to write that first check. We believe this challenge is going to help you begin to put your financial house in order.

When is the 90 Day Tithe Challenge?

The Tithe Challenge is from April 3, 2016 - July 3, 2016. You can start today by making an online contribution, signing up for automatic giving, or just writing “Tithe Challenge” on your envelope.

Who can take the 90 Day Tithe Challenge?

Anyone. Just fill out the form online or at church and commit to faithfully tithe 10% of your income. If you are already a tither you can also take the challenge to give more.
