What to Expect at New Hope

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: Where do I park? What should I wear? Where do my kids go? At New Hope, we want you to feel comfortable when you visit, so here are some frequently asked questions.

When are services?

8:00am worship services are on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays in the main sanctuary. Each service lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes and features prayer, a sermon, and music from the New Hope Worship Team.

11:00am worship services are on Sundays in the main sanctuary. Each service lasts approximately two hours and features prayer, a sermon, music and dance from the one of the New Hope choirs, the New Hope Worship Team, and the Praise Dancers.

Where should I park?

The church has two parking lots, one located on Oxford Avenue at the rear of the church and another at the intersection of Bergen and Lexington Avenues. You may park in any available spot.

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. Some dress casually while others prefer to wear their "Sunday best". We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress and we want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing.

What is a New Hope service like?

We strive to have our attenders passionately engage in worship experiences. To achieve this we utilize a mix of live music, dance and media.

What are the messages like?

We aim to teach the God's Word in a way that is engaging, understandable and applicable. The message will be based on the Bible, and Pastor Perry will often include interesting anecdotes, the latest news stories, or movies. Expect our sermons to last roughly 45 minutes; check out the audio section or our podcasts to listen one.

What about the music?

Music and singing is just one of the many ways that we worship. At New Hope, we are led by a team of musicians and vocalists. We sing contemporary Gospel, historic hymns and current worship songs.

Where do my children go?

Based on age or year in school, your children will be placed in the nursery or assigned to an appropriate Sunday school class from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. Following Sunday School, the Feed the Children ministry serves breakfast in the fellowship hall. The New Hope Nursery is the perfect place for infants and small children to go while you attend service. The Nursery is located downstairs past the vending machine area.

Do you have something for college students or young adults?

Will I be asked to give money?

As a guest, please do not feel obligated to give. The Bible explains that giving is an act of worship, through which those who have a personal relationship with Jesus give regularly and generously to response to God’s gifts. If you consider New Hope your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can set-up an online giving account.

Does the church have Wi-Fi?

Yes. The church offers free Wi-Fi so that you can access online versions of the Bible and give during worship. Connect to the New Hope Sanctuary (SSID) network from your smartphone, tablet, or Wi-Fi-enabled device.

If I need help, how does New Hope provide support?

We partner with church members and guests through counseling, premarital mentoring, classes, hospital visitation, prayer and more. For more information on how we can help, please contact our church office.
