Charged with carrying out the administrative and business functions of the church, these organizations are responsible for the upkeep of facilities, finances, personnel, and church growth and development.

Deacons

Dea. Robert Cowell Positions are filled by election or assignment by the Pastor

The purpose of the Deacons' Ministry is to serve the Lord and His Church by assisting the Pastor in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the Church. Deacons are appointed and ordained by the Pastor. They assist by caring for the poor, the sick, the preparation and administration of the Ordinances; service of the Communion and Baptism; and in ministering to the spiritual interests of families in the Church and community. Jesus’ life is the model for the Deacon. In Mark 10:45, Jesus said, “I came not to be served, but to serve.” Deacons exist to serve God and the Church.

Every member of the congregation is assigned to a Deacon. If you need to talk with a church official, you are encouraged to begin with the Deacon to whom you are assigned so he/she can direct you to the proper person(s). Security Task Force

Deacon Daryn Martin Membership is open
The Security Task Foce has an obligation to every church member, visitor, and member of the community who steps inside our doors to provide a safe environment for worship. This ministry is made up of a team of dedicated men and women who work together to provide a safe holistic atmosphere within the body of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Jersey City, New Jersey by patrolling the church building and property during regular worship services and major functions.

Support Staff

Rev. Dr. Alonzo Perry, Sr. Positions are filled by election or assignment by the Pastor
The New Hope Support Staff is comprised of the following:
  • Church Administrator: The Church Administrator manages church finances, property, and office. In addition, he/she provides business and operational support to church members and professional staff.
  • Church Sexton: The Church Sexton supports the mission of our church by providing for the cleanliness, room set-ups, maintenance, and safety of the New Hope buildings and grounds.
  • Security Coordinator: The Security Coordinator oversees the Security Task Force and, as necessary, provides incident reports to the church leadership team.

Trustees

Meetings every 2nd Tuesday @ 7:00pm Denise Battle Positions are filled by election or assignment by the Pastor
The Trustee Ministry manages and oversees the monetary matters of the church with spiritual sensitivity. The church's physical property, financial obligations and all other assets are the responsibility of the Trustee Ministry. .
